“Helping others reconnect with their own artistic paths”
Living locally, I hold an enhanced DBS check, Paediatric First Aid (level 3) and am fully insured. I'm now able to dedicate more of my time to teaching art, as our children have now become young adults; graduating from university and sitting A Levels this year, respectively!

Growing up, art was a constant in my life, with both my parents being artists. My mother, an alumna of St Martins School of Art, was taught by Elizabeth Frink, with Quentin Crisp even serving as a life model. My father, a Veterinary Anatomy lecturer at The University of Cambridge, preferred capturing family events through sketches rather than photographs. His unique approach to art even left its mark in the form of a mural in the ladies' restroom at The Madingley Veterinary School site, preserved by students and staff during renovations.
After spending 17 years in London working in Magazine Publishing we decided to move back to Cambridge and to the village where I grew up, to start our own family. As the principal child carer, when the children were small, I created my own small business; St Lucy Designs, using the sketches of my late father, and then worked as a teaching assistant and did various administrative roles to fit around the family. In 2019 I welcomed a significant return to art when I was invited to run an After School Art Club. This journey has brought me full circle, allowing me to rediscover my artistic talents and share my knowledge and expertise, helping others reconnect with their own artistic paths.

Sculpture Inspiration & A Level Artwork
"I was in the museum at Downing College Anatomy site, Tennis Court Road, drawing dog skeletons with my father when I took this photo of him, a classic; as he always wore a bow tie and also always smoked a pipe! Using, our pointer dog, Joker, as my model and working with Sculptor, Peter Miller, at his studio in Bassingbourn. I welded the armature in steel and coated it in plaster using strips of scrim".

Studies of sleeping and lying down pointer dog in chalk pastel. For A level; 'bursting beans' using chalk pastel, and butterfly wing in oil pastel.
